Choose one question at a time. Read the biblical passage in its surrounding chapter, note the question each interpretation answers, and distinguish what the text says from the argument made about it.
Know which churches are being compared
Oriental Orthodox Christianity belongs to a distinct church family. An overview of this family is available from the World Council of Churches. [1] Comparisons in this library will identify specific Protestant traditions rather than assuming all Protestants teach the same thing.
Follow the references
Consult church sources alongside historical writings. The Coptic Orthodox doctrine and theology collection is one starting resource. [2] Each later study will identify the exact passages and editions used; a source collection alone does not establish a particular theological conclusion.
Read with patience
The library will grow as articles and sources are added. Topics marked forthcoming do not yet contain completed comparisons. Begin with common ground, consider objections carefully, and return to the full source whenever a quotation raises a question.
